Sports & Remedial Massage Practitioner MISRM CHNC Reg
Having specialised for 16 years in corporate PR and marketing, I had reached a point in my life where I desired a total change to my career, skills and work-life balance. For many years I had been interested in massage therapy and in 2009 was lucky enough to have the opportunity to dedicate time to retrain.
While living in London in 2010, I qualified initially with an ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology and Holistic Massage, gaining an overall distinction.
I then moved back to Exmouth in 2011, after a 20 year absence, where I had the good fortune to meet Anna-Maria who invited me to join the clinic’s team in June that year.
Keen to develop my skills to the highest possible level, I enrolled as a student at The Massage Training School and qualified with the BTEC Level 5 in Clinical Sports and Remedial Massage diploma in June 2012.
This combination of advanced training provides me with a wide portfolio of assessment and treatment techniques that can cater for all types of soft tissue complaints - from tension and discomfort related to stress and lifestyle pressures, to dysfunctions and pain related to poor posture, overuse, immobility and injury. I also support people in training or those who are active in sport to help maximise their performance by keeping their muscles and joints mobile and in good condition, thus helping to prevent injury.
For me, working in massage therapy is a dynamic and rewarding profession that offers real healthcare benefits to people. I am delighted to be part of such a professional and gifted team of specialists providing the highest standards of massage therapy treatment.
